I began this series as a way to practice painting lips and I've learned there are no two mouths the same with all the subtleties of structure and muscle tone. This series (so far) focuses on the lips of famous singers. I plan to include a few famous orators as the series continues. Both vocalists and orators rely on their mouth as their "instrument of self-expression" and maybe that's what makes them so fascinating to paint.
